Your Role: Manager - Real Estate

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact as you work cross-functionally to expand our enterprise’s reach in the communities we serve. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate-Development, you will play a crucial role in supporting, developing, and executing our real estate growth strategy in your assigned area.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Driving Meijer’s real estate development and market entry strategy, including market planning, broker networking, site selection, acquisition, and development negotiations.
• Coordinating with internal teams—operations, design, construction, procurement, data analytics, and legal—to ensure smooth expansion of our convenience store program.
• Conducting industry, market, and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Traveling to evaluate potential site locations, assessing factors like property values, zoning, and development obstacles.
• Building and maintaining relationships with brokers, developers, and other vendors to source new project opportunities.
• Attending industry conferences and networking events to establish connections and leverage resources for new site opportunities.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• A Bachelor’s Degree; a Master’s in Business Administration or Real Estate is a plus.
• At least 10 years of experience in real estate site selection and development, with a minimum of 5 years in a self-development retailer in grocery, big-box, or convenience sectors.
• A proven track record of career progression and leadership expansion.
• Strong ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve results.
• Analytical skills to translate qualitative and quantitative data into strategic actions.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Outstanding organizational, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience in negotiating commercial real estate transactions and understanding complex legal documents.
• Familiarity with design, construction, and property management industries.
• Willingness to travel within your areas of responsibility.
