For over 30 years, Global Arts Live has been a leading force in bringing exceptional global music and dance to stages across Greater Boston. We aspire to transcend borders, cultivate community, and enrich lives through cultural diversity and artistic expression. To date, we have presented more than 800 artists from over 70 countries, performing in over 1,500 events attended by more than 1 million people.
We are in the midst of unprecedented growth as we launch a state-of-the-art performing arts center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA, to open in September 2026. Supported by a $20M campaign, this new venue-which includes a 400-seat theater, 125-seat cabaret space, and rehearsal studio-will further our mission and amplify our impact.
MARKETING ASSISTANT JOB OVERVIEW
Global Arts Live seeks a Marketing Assistant to play a critical role in our organization's external communications. You will work closely with the Director of Marketing, Marketing Manager, and Graphic Designer to create and implement print and digital designs and communications. This role is an excellent position for an early-career professional, offering hands-on experience across many components of the marketing, communications, and creative sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital
Assist in the creation and execution of email marketing campaigns
Create compelling content
Segment target audiences
Monitor email campaign performance
Provide insights for continuous improvement.
Acquire and download artist assets
Maintain an efficient and organized file storage system.
Assist in social media management
Identify trends and competitor social media strategy
Manage and schedule posts that align with brand messaging
Monitor and respond to audience interactions, comments, and messages
Track and analyze performance metrics using Meta Ads Manager and Meta Insights
Monitor and report on website analytics using Google Analytics
Implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies
Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for improved search engine rankings
Update meta data on website
Update and maintain the website
Outreach
Represent Global Arts Live at concerts and events as a member of the Marketing/Development team
Identify and engage community organizations that align with our programming.
Assist with the CONNECT program, which provides access to Global Arts Live programming for underserved communities
Identify new participating organizations
Collect feedback from individuals and participating organizations
Track engagement
Design
Handle program note creation and distribution
Acquire content for program notes
Layout in InDesign
Coordinate printing and delivery
Create visually compelling content including digital flyers, social posts, and videos
Resize images for deployment across digital platforms
Other
Answer phones and take ticket orders
Contribute to the management of constituent data
QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 1 year experience in an office environment, preferably in a marketing role
Proven experience with the Adobe Suite, including InDesign
Experience with social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Detail-oriented; excellent organizational and operational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Technologically savvy
Willingness to work as a team player and individual contributor
A passion for social media, digital marketing, and graphic design with an eagerness to learn
Comfortable brainstorming fresh content ideas
Passion for music and dance
Desire to engage with diverse audiences
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to climb two flights of stairs
HOURS
Regular M-F office hours (remote work permitted for 60% of week) plus occasional evening and weekend hours, primarily during performance season (September-June).
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $50,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, disability and life insurance; SIMPLE Cafeteria flexible spending account; paid vacation, sick, and personal days; and 10 paid holidays.
