We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lead Estimator. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a solid background in construction estimating and budgeting. The successful candidate will have a crucial role in our organization, leading the estimation process for various construction projects, from the initial concept to the final closeout. This position is integral to our company's success, as accurate estimation is vital for efficient budgeting and project management.
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the estimation process for a wide range of construction projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
2. Developing comprehensive, detailed project budgets and cost models.
3. Reviewing and interpreting construction plans and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
4. Meeting with clients, architects, and engineers to discuss project specifications and requirements.
5. Coordinating with project managers and other team members to fine-tune estimates and budgets.
6. Preparing and presenting estimate reports and project bids to senior management and clients.
7. Conducting risk analysis and identifying potential areas of cost escalation.
8. Keeping up-to-date with the latest construction methods, materials, and pricing trends.
9. Providing guidance and mentoring to junior estimators.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Permanent Lead Estimator, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
2. A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
3. Proficient in using estimation software and other related IT tools.
4. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
5. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
6. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
8. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
9. Certification from a recognized professional body in the field of construction estimating would be an advantage.
