Applicants should reside in the Oskaloosa, IA region (within driving distance of farms) or be willing to relocate. The typical service area is the Oskaloosa, IA surrounding geographical area.Summary of PositionJBS Live Pork, LLChas an opportunity available for a RemoteField Manager in the Southeast, IAreporting to Scott Snyder, Live Pork Production Manager. This position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problemareas and provide solutions for improving production.Will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports.You will work with your Business Manager to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability. Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing production on their farm. A field manager manages 20-25 producer sites consisting of 50,000-100,000 pig spaces. In addition, the field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals. Approximately 5-10 million dollars of pig inventory is a typical field manager's area.Principle Accountabilities:40% - Pork Producer Training20% - Auditing Facility and Environmental compliance and work to help producer meet complianceby offering solutions20% - Assist producers in Property Marketing's Animals20% - Administrative duties - pig conformance's, feed budgets, closeout process, etc.Principle Responsibilities:Coaching, training, and developing new farm managersAnimal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutionsMedication/vet orderingBio-Security compliance and action planningAssists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and laborMaintains accurate number integrity for record keepingCoordinates and oversees completion of special projectsMakes recommendations for operational improvements Any other duties assigned by the Production ManagerRequired:BS/BA degree in Agriculture, related field, and 5 years' equivalent experience in pork production - strongly desiredComputerknowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook80%-day travel required, occasional overnight travel.Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goalsPossess Problem Solving TechniquesDemonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operationsPossesses proficiency in spreadsheet, database, word processing softwareDemonstrates written and verbal communication skillsExceptional organizational and communication skillsValid driver?s licenseAbility to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs Preferred Qualifications:Previous management experience preferred, ideally sow farm experienceBenefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.
