We have multiple openings for Automation and Instrumentation & Controls Specialists to support our public, private, and federal clients locally and around the world with all phases of SCADA automation projects. An Automation Specialist at CDM Smith: Creates basic to moderately complex instrumentation, controls, and related systems designs using 3D and 4D design practices. Assists with specification development. Creates basic to moderately complex human-machine interface (HMI) graphics, programmable logic controller programming (PLC), report development, etc. Assists with testing and startup of control systems. Reviews basic to highly complex component level shop drawings, contractor clarifications. Assists with testing oversight. Performs other duties as required. Job Title: Automation Specialist 3 Group: ISO Employment Type: Regular Minimum Qualifications: 3 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Water/Wastewater highly preferred. Experience within an Engineering and/or integration firm highly preferred. Job Site Location: United States - Nationwide Amount of Travel Required: 20% Assignment Category: No - We will not support sponsorship, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position Skills and Abilities: Solid knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and related systems designs. Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programs. Strong knowledge of 3D and 4D design practices. Background Check and Drug Testing Information: CDM Smith Inc. reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. Pay Range Minimum: $71,094 Pay Range Maximum: $117,333 Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
