Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and high-performing Trader to join our team at a leading wealth management firm. The ideal candidate will play a critical role on our centralized trading team in executing trades across multiple asset classes, supporting the implementation of advisor-led portfolio strategies, and contributing to the continued buildout of our institutional trading platform. Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely execution of equity, fixed income, ETF, mutual fund, and options trades across multiple custodians.
  • Monitor open orders and manage trade lifecycle events, including allocation and settlement.
  • Proactively identify and resolve trade discrepancies or errors.
  • Work closely with advisors and portfolio managers to facilitate trade execution aligned with investment policy and models.
  • Support model rebalancing and tax-aware implementation workflows.
  • Assist and train advisors on best practices for trade execution strategies and use of trading platforms.
  • Assist with configuration, testing, and enhancement of the Charles River (CRD) platform to support new workflows, accounts, or advisor-led activity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant trading experience, preferably within an RIA, asset manager, or broker-dealer.
  • Strong working knowledge of Charles River (CRD) or similar institutional trading platforms (e.g., Eze Castle, Bloomberg AIM) required.
  • Experience in multi-asset class trading; equities and fixed income required; options and other securities a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trade settlement processes and custodial workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and regulatory requirements.
  • High attention to detail, with strong execution discipline and error mitigation mindset.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong team player willing to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally with custodian partners and technology vendors
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Experience with client reporting solutions like Addepar and CRM platforms like Salesforce a nice to have.
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to perform successfully in a service-oriented, fast-paced, high-growth and frequently changing environment and aligned with Cresset’s values and culture

What We Offer:

At Cresset, we focus on people first. As a service business, our people are our assets. Engaging our clients and employees is our highest priority. Starting base salary range: $90,000 - $110,000. Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location. Cresset offers a competitive compensation package including an annual incentive and a benefits package to all full-time employees including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, health savings accounts, short and long-term disability insurance, voluntary critical and accident insurance, and pre-tax parking and transportation programs.
